Blinds for your kitchen

Before deciding on what blinds you would like in your kitchen you need to consider the environment. Is your kitchen small? Do you tend to get a lot of condensation? Do you do a lot of cooking that leaves strong odours? Considering the atmosphere is an important factor when choosing your blind.

The kitchen is also the centre of the family home, many families spend more time in their kitchen than any other room in their home and the décor should reflect this. This of course for many is a practical room too but we recognise that you still need your blind to be stylish and complement your décor.

Roller blinds are perfect for kitchens, the fabric isn't too heavy and there is such a wide choice of fabrics. You can also add different shaped trims to add more interest.

Many people choose Venetian blinds in their kitchens as they are so practical but stylish. They can be just wiped clean and it doesn't matter if they get splashed from the sink or even from cooking.

If your kitchen can get very steamy then we wouldn't recommend very heavy fabrics or Wooden Venetians. Instead go for a Roller blind or if you do want that natural look try one of our Wood Effect Venetian blinds or even a Woodweave blind.

Top tips for kitchen blinds

• Newer houses are often built so that the kitchen gets a lot of sunlight, remember this when considering how you will use your blind.
• Avoid heavy fabrics as these can absorb the moisture or heavy cooking smells.
• If your blind is likely to frequently get splashed choose a blind you can wipe clean.
